As Business Manager of my wife’s business, I have always kept statistics so I could monitor the health of her business and how well our marketing efforts were working. We knew who, when, how many, and for how long our patients had been treated for EILO plus we gave them industry accepted pre and post therapy questionnaires to track the effectiveness of the treatment.
One day my wife mentioned this to a colleague of hers who suggested that those stats would make a really good retrospective study. So, we went back into the patient’s charts and added more and more data to our spreadsheets. The study covers 84 patients over a 5-year time span.
After many years of working on this, our study was published today in ASHAWire Perspectives SIG 3.
Unfortunately, you have to pay to have access to the whole study but here is the link to it just the same. https://pubs.asha.org/doi/10.1044/2025_PERSP-25-00038
Monitoring your business with good and important statistics is vital to running a healthy business.
